Cave Calcite, also known as White Aragonite, is a naturally occurring mineral most commonly found in cave formations. It is a polymorph of Calcite which means both minerals have the exact same chemical composition; however, each crystallizes differently into different crystal shapes. This is caused by the different conditions present during the crystal formation. Whereas Calcite forms in crystal blocks, White Aragonite forms in into crystal needles found in massive, compact, granular or radially fibrous textures. Both considered to be pretty soft stones, Calcite is the more stable form of Aragonite.
Botryoidal is the type of texture akin to a cluster of grapes or many rounded segments, like a cluster of white bubbles.
